The Japanese Culture Festival is to return in 2018.
We are working to make a bigger, better and even more exciting culture festival for 2018. If you are interested in attending, vending or getting involved in the design, promotion, organisation or running of the festival - please get in contact with Arriana Corr (supervisor and coordinator) via her email (arrianacorr@hotmail.com) or the contact page of this website. Letter of apology from December 2016 Thank you for contacting me about the Japanese Culture Festival. I am very sad, but due to my health being very bad this year, I am no longer able to run the festival in 2017. I am really sad and hope that I can do another event or festival like this in the West Midlands in late 2017 or 2018. 本当に申し訳ありませんです。 I am terribly sorry for the late notice and realise this may cause serious inconvenience. Thank you for your interest in the festival. I'll let you know what the plans are for the next one when it does happen. Thank you for all your hard work and efforts last year's event, you really helped with the success of the event and the charity fundraising. I wish you all the best for your happiness, health and your business. Wishing you all a very merry christmas and a wonderful new year. メリークリスマス&良いお年を〜 Hopefully see you in 2017 sometime! Keep being awesome. お元気で〜 Kind regards, Arriana

Thank you so much for all your help and support.
Every person who worked for, attended, took part or got involved played a HUGE part in making Japanese Culture Festival 2016 such a success. Over 600 people came along and cosplayed, took part in karaoke and competitions, got to enjoy bubble tea, Japanese noodles, hot-pot, curry, cakes and sushi, went to the maid café, played traditional Japanese festival games, created manga drawings, learned how to make sushi and origami, practiced Japanese, learned about Japan and Japanese art, took part in the calligraphy workshop, tried on kimonos or dressed up in J-fashion, took part in dancing and singing J-pop, entering quizzes and competitions or gaming tournaments and watched anime and Japanese films. Together we raised over £1000 for charity. Congratulations! So many people enjoyed Japanese Culture Festival 2016 and have asked if we would like to make this an annual event. We also received lots of feedback, both positive and negative. Taking this on board, we are already working together to make Japanese Culture Festival 2017 even bigger, better, more organised and ultimately more fun for everyone to enjoy! We want to get as many people involved as possible and are going to need a huge team of people this time to make it all happen. We plan to begin meeting in March 2016 to start organising and making bookings and contacts for the next year. Please get in contact by emailing arrianacorr@hotmail.com if you are interested in being a part of next year’s festival, I would love to hear from you! Thank you for all your support and for sharing love for all things Japanese and ambitions to help make the world a better place for everyone. We all did something truly amazing and I am so proud of everyone. Best wishes, Arriana himitsushi www.himitsushi.com 12:00-21:30 Reception – The Student's Union
